The aroma of freshly made tortillas—both corn and flour—mingles with the robust scent of spices and slow-cooked meats, creating an ambience that immediately promises comfort and satisfaction.
The menu is a vibrant celebration of traditional dishes, expertly crafted with fresh ingredients and bold flavors. If lunch or dinner is more your style, don’t miss the Cheese Enchilada Plate or the sizzling Chicken Fajitas, which customers rave about for their generous portions and crave-worthy marinades. Those who favor something off the beaten path are drawn to weekday specials like Monday’s Brisket Plate, Calabacita Con Puerco (squash with pork tips), or Tuesday’s BBQ Pork Spare Ribs Plate—each offering a unique taste adventure at a very approachable price.
Food lovers will appreciate the standout dishes like Fideo Carne, a savory noodle-based favorite, and the irresistible Queso Flameado, a cheesy, melt-in-your-mouth delight. The menu also caters to those who enjoy lighter fare, with fresh fruit and taco salads adding a refreshing balance.
Beyond the food, Piedras Negras De Noche’s friendly and attentive staff enhance the welcoming experience. Regulars like Francisco S. praise the consistency of flavor that has endured through the years, even after the original location faced hardships, while others like Ulises Lopez highlight the wonderfully generous portions and affordable prices.

It’s the kind of place where every dish tells a story and every visit feels like coming home to comfort and deliciousness.
Piedras Negras De Noche has been my favorite Mexican restaurant in San Antonio for years—honestly, I think it’s the best in the city. I’ve been coming here since before their original location burned down in 2008, and even though the spot has changed, the food is still just as amazing. The enchiladas are my go-to, but if you're in the mood to splurge a little, get the fajitas. Trust me—when your server walks by with that sizzling plate, heads will turn. The smell alone is enough to make the whole room jealous. This place is absolutely worth checking out!
Very tasty and fresh. a must visit. no need to go to the higher end Mexican establishments. this food is up there with them and I am a native to San Antonio.
Walking or smells like food and cleanliness. Have seat and receive service right away. The pictures on here do not do this foods justice. If you could see the flavor in a picture you would already be here. Don’t hesitate like me. I could eat here everyday
I grew up eating at Piedras Negras De Noche almost every weekend as a kid growing up. We would go to Piedras Negras Cafe when it was by the train tracks, then we would have dinner at Piedras Negras De Noche some evenings. I had not been back in years until last week. My wife had a bad experience years ago and refuses to eat there with me. We went with about 40 family members after my Aunt Sarah's funeral on Jan 9th. It was her favorite restaurant. My food was good, but they were super busy, and it took a while to get our food. It was in the middle of the lunch rush, so I'm sure they were not expecting such a large crowd on that particular day. My fajitas tasted like they had been frozen for a while, and my son's barbacoa smelled fishy, so he didn't touch it. Everything else I tasted was just like I remembered. The sweet tea, the chips and salsa, the rice and beans, tortillas. I hope I get a chance to go back soon and give them another chance. Everyone else who ate said their food was good.
Great portions. Price is cheap, delicious. Home made tortillas (corn and flour) Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to eat menudo. Machacado and steak a la mexicana is what we had for lunch. We definitely planing on coming back. Liliana was our server, she was amazing. Our coffee cup was always above half full.
Piedras Negras is very good. I ordered a tamale plate and have to say, they are some of the best I've had. Very full of meat and not too much masa. Carla, our waitress was very attentive and has a beautiful smile. The plate orders are large and we all left with our supper in hand. We will definitely return. Great value for the amount of food you get and the tortillas are handmade.
A San Antonio’s neighborhood fave and to go restaurant for delicious Mexican food. It’s authentic and won’t break the bank. Everyone is so welcoming from the owner/manager and service. Definitely recommend you give it a try.
